Experiencing Diana, The Conservatory

  1. Duration of Experience
Each Experience Diana session is for 30 minutes within the conservatory/aviary area. Visitors must leave the conservatory at the end of their allotted session.
  2. Bird Welfare Comes First
The wellbeing, comfort and safety of our birds is our highest priority. The birds are not performers and their behaviour cannot be predicted or controlled.
  3. No Guarantee of Bird Interaction
We cannot guarantee that a bird will perch on, approach, interact with or pose with any visitor. Our handlers will never force a bird to interact with a guest.
  4. Follow the Handlers’ Instructions
Visitors must remain with and within the designated area supervised by our handlers at all times. All instructions given by our bird handlers must be followed immediately and without exception.
  5. Do Not Touch or Handle Birds Without Permission
Visitors must not attempt to touch, pick up, chase, restrain, feed or otherwise handle any bird unless specifically instructed or permitted by a handler.
  6. Do Not Pester the Birds
Visitors must respect the birds’ space and behaviour. Repeatedly calling, touching, following, frightening, provoking or attempting to force interaction with a bird is strictly prohibited.
  7. Bird Bites and Scratches
Birds are living animals and may bite, scratch or otherwise cause injury, even when they appear calm and friendly. Visitors must exercise appropriate caution and follow all instructions given by the handlers. The possibility of a bite or scratch is inherent to an experience involving birds.
  8. Removal from the Aviary
Any visitor who behaves aggressively, irresponsibly or in a manner that may distress, endanger or harm a bird, another visitor or a member of staff may be immediately asked to leave the conservatory. No refund will be provided in such circumstances.
  9. Health and Illness
Visitors who are unwell, have symptoms of an infectious illness, fever, respiratory infection or any other condition that could pose a risk to the birds, other guests or staff should not participate in the experience. Our team may refuse entry where there is a reasonable concern regarding health or safety.
  10. No Refunds
Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Once a booking has been made, no refund will be provided due to late arrival, failure to attend, change of mind, illness, refusal to follow instructions, removal from the aviary, or inability to interact with the birds.
  11. Late Arrival
Visitors are requested to arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled session. Late arrival will not ordinarily result in an extension of the session, and the experience will still end at the scheduled time.
  12. Children
Children must remain under the direct supervision of their accompanying adult at all times. Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring that children follow all instructions given by our handlers.
  13. Personal Belongings and Accessories
Visitors may be asked to remove or secure items that could pose a risk to the birds, including loose jewellery, dangling accessories, hats, bags or other objects. Please follow the handler’s instructions regarding personal belongings.
  14. Food and Drink
Food and beverages must not be brought into the aviary unless expressly permitted by our team. Visitors must never feed the birds, including with food brought from outside or from the restaurant.
  15. Photography and Mobile Phones
Photography may be permitted subject to the instructions of our handlers. Flash photography, loud sounds or any activity that may disturb or frighten the birds is prohibited.
  16. Restaurant Not Included
The price paid for Experiencing Diana, The Aviary, covers access to the aviary experience only. Food, beverages and any other purchases at Diana Conservatory & Restaurant are not included in the Experience ticket unless expressly stated otherwise.
  17. Changes to the Experience
For the safety and welfare of the birds, Diana Sanctuary reserves the right to modify, restrict, pause or discontinue any interaction or portion of the experience at any time, including without prior notice.
  18. Temporary Closure
The aviary experience may be temporarily restricted or suspended due to bird welfare, weather, operational, safety or other unforeseen circumstances. Where applicable, Diana Sanctuary may offer an alternative session at its discretion.
  19. Acceptance of Terms
By purchasing an Experience Diana ticket and entering the conservatory, the visitor confirms that they have read, understood and agreed to these terms and agree to follow all instructions given by Diana Sanctuary staff and bird handlers.
